Portsea scheme nominated in UK Housing Awards

19 August 2010

The John Pounds Community Centre in Portsea, Portsmouth, has been nominated in the ‘Regenerating Communities’ category at the 2010 UK Housing Awards.

Named after a philanthropic eighteenth century Portsmouth cobbler, the mixed use development has regenerated a semi-derelict site in one of the most deprived wards in South East England and comprises 153 flats, primary care facilities, shops, and a community resource centre set around courtyard gardens.

Capita Symonds provided a full multidisciplinary service on the £7m Centre - encompassing building design, landscape, environment and project management.

The winners of the awards will be announced on Wednesday 10 November.
