The first People's Powerhouse Convention is taking place on Wednesday 12 July at Doncaster Rovers Football Ground. Capita, together with practitioners, policy makers, opinion formers, local people and stakeholders will share best practice, debate policy and look at what is needed to meet the future needs of the North – its people and economy.

Devolution presents an opportunity to do things differently, with more control of resources, local influence is more important than ever before.

In this session Tony Wilson will outline the opportunities that broader devolution can bring for jobs, skills, careers and education in a post-Brexit world. Co-presented with Claire Hogan, Liz Cashon and John Merry, the session will explore ways to achieve inclusive growth through place-based development across skills and employment and look at practical steps to tackle poverty and achieve economic prosperity.

This session is open to delegates attending the People's Powerhouse conference.
