For those responsible for controlling the risk and prevention of exposure to Legionella bacteria including Property Managers, Facilities Managers, Business Owners and Directors. 

Aims
This course will provide delegates with an understanding of the legal and practical responsibilities and to fulfil their obligations under the L8 ACOP: Legionnaires’ Disease: The Control of Legionella Bacteria in Water Systems.

Objectives

By the end of the training session, delegates will be able to:

  • Have a basic understanding of Legionnaires’ Disease
  • To understand the role of the “responsible person”
  • To understand legal requirements to manage Legionella bacteria within the built environment
  • To be able to identify types of water systems where assessments/controls may be required
  • To have knowledge of the risks associated with Legionella bacteria
  • To understand the range of control measures available
  • To understand the principles of sampling and monitoring
