Amlwch Copper Bins Wins RIBA and RSAW Welsh Architecture Awards

13th June 2014

The Amlwch Copper Bins heritage centre on Anglesey has been named Building of the Year at the 2014 RIBA / RSAW Welsh Architecture Awards.

Capita provided structural engineering and CDMC services on the project which tells the story of how Anglesey was once the world’s leading copper producer.

The centre, which has been developed by Menter Môn in association with the Amlwch Heritage Trust, is part of a major project to preserve and promote industrial, social and environmental heritage of Mynydd Parys and north eastern Anglesey.  This is one of 24 schemes to benefit from Cadw’s Heritage Tourism Project which is funded by the European Regional Development Fund through the Welsh Government.
