The CAA reviewed the capital expenditure plans proposed by the airport during the next five year spending period which commences in April 2014.
Capital expenditure can include expenditure to replace or renew existing assets, address regulatory requirements and provide for increased or improved capacity and outputs. Passenger numbers and passenger growth scenarios are also critical in this form of price control.
The report included an assessment of whether individual projects, and their expenditure, are justified given the current and future needs of airlines and their customers and, where appropriate, the promotion of competition.
