Jeremy Day, who left JLL in August, has taken up his new role as Capita’s head of corporate real estate solutions.
Jeremy led the King Sturge corporate real estate team through its merger with JLL in 2011 and focused post-merger on JLL’s UK corporate occupier clients. At Capita he will lead the team that advises clients including National Grid, BUPA, Royal Mail, BSkyB, Pitney Bowes and McDonald’s, as well as spearheading future product and business development.
Jeremy is a member of the RICS Corporate Occupier Group, Chairman of the Federation of Corporate Real Estate, and an associate lecturer in corporate real estate at Oxford Brookes University. He has regularly lobbied on matters affecting occupiers, including lease accounting, service charges and energy and environmental regulations.
I believe that the polarisation amongst the global real estate brokerage houses leaves an enormous gap for a strong UK-focused real estate adviser. Most corporates see ‘outsourcing’, as opposed to real estate, as the starting point for their business process and I think Capita is centrally placed to drive forward new strategies. Real estate is usually the second or third major cost to business, after people/IT, and the potential is huge. Added to this, technological advancements and trends in ‘new ways of working’ are driving occupiers’ real estate needs in the ‘battle for talent’. Almost every Capita client will have a real estate opportunity.
Jeremy Day
Head of Corporate Real Estate
We are delighted Jeremy has joined Capita. He brings a wealth of knowledge, contacts and experience in occupier services and will play a key role in the expansion of our corporate real estate business. We are uniquely positioned in the UK market, being part of a company which touches on so many aspects of business transformation. Expect to see much more of Capita in the corporate occupier markets in the future.
