Capita has appointed Piers Leigh and Chris Barrs as directors within its agency team.
Both Piers (above, left) and Chris (above, right) join the company from JLL and will focus on the Thames Valley, M25 and South East office markets.
Piers has been an office agent for over 14 years, previously working on well known schemes such as M&G’s The Heights in Weybridge; Goodman’s Arlington Square in Bracknell; and large pre-let campaigns for Schroders and Stanhope at Ruskin Square in Croydon, and Brookgate’s CB1 in Cambridge.
Piers also has extensive tenant representation experience having acted for a number of occupiers including Thales, Network Rail, Telefonica O2, Orange, BT Telereal, British Waterways and Brewin Dolphin. He was most recently involved with over 100,000 sq ft of disposals for Pfizer in Maidenhead and Cambridge, and advised Hermes with Tudor Toone on their purchase of 1 Brunel Way in Slough together with its proposed redevelopment.
Chris, meanwhile, has worked in the South East market for ten years and during this time has acted for clients on a number of large high profile instructions such as Winnersh Triangle for Patrizia & Oaktree; IQ Slough for SEGRO; Reading International for Goodman; 5 The Square, Stockley Park for Oxygen Asset Management; and Apex Plaza and Green Park for M&G.
He recently advised Brockton & Landid on the purchase of One Valpy and Thames Tower in Reading, and Oaktree & Hines on the 200,000 sq ft Maxis scheme in Bracknell. Chris has also advised well known international occupiers such as Cisco, GSK, CSC, Anixter, General Motors and Clearswift on both disposals and acquisition.
We expect to grow our business considerably over the next few years as we continue to develop our core services and build on the broader opportunities that come with being part of such a diverse organisation. We anticipate that our agency business will be a key beneficiary of this growth and have been looking to bolster our team for some time. We are therefore delighted to have recruited Piers and Chris as they will be a strong complement to our existing team and client base.
Managing director of Capita’s real estate business
Piers Leigh said: “Capita has huge ambitions to grow its property and infrastructure business and both Chris and I were drawn to this unique opportunity. The client base and diversity of the wider plc demonstrates the potential reach and influence of the business. Capita’s agency and investment teams have a great track record and client base in the South East market and we see great overlap here.”
