Bristol Royal Infirmary
Designed by Capita on behalf of the University Hospitals Bristol NHS Trust, the new £4.95m ‘Welcome Centre’ at the Bristol Royal Infirmary is one of the most innovative of its kind in the UK. It comprises the redevelopment of the Infirmary’s reception and waiting area to provide approximately 530 sq m of modern space for retailers including a coffee shop, newsagents, food outlet, clothing / gift shop and an innovative pharmacy service.

North Bristol NHS Trust (NBT)
Since April 2009 North Bristol NHS Trust (NBT) has been responsible for the delivery of Community Child Health (CCH) and Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) to the people living in Bristol and South Gloucestershire.

The Trust and commissioners had a vision to improve how these services were delivered and to work closely with other organisations, building on the strong relationships NBT has with NHS partners - Bristol City Council, South Gloucestershire Council, private sector, community groups and charitable organisations - for the health and wellbeing of children and adolescents. The objective was to use collaboration to realise delivery of locality based hubs close to areas of need but by pooling all resources across multi-agency sectors using a private sector facilitator. The results yielded were phenomenal with huge benefits for children’s, families, carers and staff.

Capita worked with the Trust from service contract tender stage and continue to provide a strategic estate partnership to facilitate the delivery of circa £20m of capital developments delivered through collaborative working and alternative funding outside of the traditional self fund models.  The estate strategy authored by Capita was  key to mapping the services’ future, ensuring the accommodation was aligned with the organisation’s strategic direction

The awards ceremony tales place on Friday 13 June.
