Capita has appointed James Lane as Associate Director in its fire engineering team.
James, who joins the company from Hilson Moran, has over 20 years experience within the fire industry having worked on a number of major projects including the extensive redevelopment of the area around Shell’s UK headquarters near the London Eye; a phased evacuation and CFD analysis for the ‘skygarden’ in the ‘Walkie Talkie’ building on London’s Fenchurch Street; and the development of a fire safety strategy for the famous Sage music venue in Gateshead.
His specific skills include an in-depth technical knowledge of fire regulations and guidance publications, as well as extensive experience in negotiating with statutory authorities to ensure an efficient fire strategy approval process. James is also able to explain complex technical subjects in clear terms to a wide audience whilst engaging with design teams to quickly establish the core fire issues that are key to successful project delivery.
