New Network Rail and Wembley Recruits for Capita Property Team

Capita has appointed Rashmi Parmar (above) as retail director in its property management team and Stephen Peat as technical services director in its FM consultancy team.

A specialist retail property manager with over 23 years experience, Rashmi will oversee Capita’s retail property management offering for shopping centres and retail parks. He joins the company from Network Rail where he looked after the retail asset management of Grand Central in Birmingham as well as the refurbishment and remodelling of Victoria Place Shopping Centre in London SW1.

Prior to that he was a national director with JLL - where he oversaw ten major shopping centre schemes - and a partner at GVA.

Stephen Peat, meanwhile, has joined the company as technical services director in its FM consultancy team.

Stephen, who has over 30 years’ experience, joins the company from Wembley Stadium where he developed the FM strategy for the £757m stadium prior to handover in 2007. He also built and led the post-handover FM team which was responsible for all maintenance; cleaning; waste management; pitchcare; logistics; technical event support; CAD; projects; office management; reception; and helpdesk.

His role at Wembley also included driving sustainability initiatives to increase recycling to over 80% and reduce energy consumption by 20%; delivering Capex projects totalling a value in excess of £20m over a seven year period; and writing the FM strategy for the £100m St. George’s Park scheme.

Prior to his role at Wembley he spent nine years with SMG UK, managing the hard and soft FM services for a group of iconic new build venues in Manchester – The MEN Arena, Bridgewater Hall and Urbis. He also contributed to the production of the winning bid document for the operation of the City of Manchester Stadium for the Commonwealth Games in 2002.

At Capita Stephen will lead the technical services team and manage and coordinate the planned maintenance services across Capita’s UK-wide managed property portfolio.
