Capita’s Habibul Islam has been nominated in the ‘Project Management’ category at the RICS’ ‘Young Surveyor of the Year’ awards.
The award recognises exceptional ability in managing projects efficiently and economically and demonstrating excellent communication and management skills.
Habibul transferred to the health property team from Woolf Ltd as an assistant project manager before being promoted to project manager in 2013. He is currently working on fire improvement works at Whipps Cross University Hospital on behalf of Bart Health NHS Trust.
Previous to that he worked with local estate managers for NHS West Kent to manage multiple projects across the entire transaction project cycle – proposal of schemes, assessment of financial and quality benefits; assisting in the scoping and design of project plans, measuring risk, establishing transaction strategy and monitor transaction projects through to delivery and completion. These included light ward refurbishments, reception upgrades, kitchen upgrades, energy efficiency schemes, car parking schemes, DDA Schemes and fire alarm/ passive works.
The winners will be announced at the Marriott Grosvenor Square, London on 14 November 2014.
