Prime Minister Visits West Oxfordshire School

24th June 2014

Pupils and construction staff working on the redevelopment of Woodstock CE Primary School in West Oxfordshire were visited by the Prime Minister - David Cameron - as part of his local constituency work recently.

Mr Cameron also formally opened phase two of the project; the new school entrance and administration block and two new classroom areas. The Prime Minister also congratulated the school on its outstanding OFSTED performance in the autumn term 2013.

The school development, which is being overseen on behalf of Oxfordshire County Council by the local Carillion/Capita partnership, is designed to deliver a new flowing layout of the school, enabling it be a more effective working and teaching environment for years to come.

Work has already included refurbishment and internal remodelling of existing learning space and creation of a new main entrance. The project is now in the final phase which will see the construction of a brand new studio and two additional classrooms, enabling the school to increase their intake of pupils in response to the area’s growing population.

The project is due for completion in August 2014.
