Residential Development Opportunity Comes to Market at Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire

5th September 2014

The Fire Service College, based at Moreton-in-Marsh, Gloucestershire, is bringing to the market 15.54 acres of surplus land with the benefit of outline planning consent for residential development of up to 250 new homes.

The proposed redevelopment land is adjacent to the existing Fire Service College and its sale will facilitate re-investment into the further provision of essential training capabilities at the college. The college is one of the world's largest operational fire and rescue training facilities. The capital raised through this disposal will be split equally between the Fire Service College and the Department for Communities and Local Government. The retained receipts will be used for reinvestment in the college facilities.

The sale process, named ‘Project Ignis’, is to commence on 6th September 2014 with bids for the freehold interest invited by the 20th October, subject to contract, unless sold prior.

Moreton-in-Marsh is one of the principal market towns in the northern Cotswolds. It is a popular town, both as a place to live and to visit, and we have already seen very strong interest in the opportunity to build new homes in this sought-after location.
