Participants are as follows:

  • Session moderator: Tony Manwaring, chief executive, Tomorrow's Company
  • David Picton, chief sustainability officer, Carillion
  • Richard McCarthy, executive director, Capita
  • Leo Johnson, strategy partner, PwC
  • Richard McCarthy, executive director, Capita

  • Ken Livingstone, cities advisor and former Mayor of London

Over the next decade London's population is expected to increase by a million; and by a further two million by the middle of the century...

Base London offers a potent mix of the strategic big picture, together with the practical information that will help businesses benefit in the here and now. It will cover both London's long-term needs with respect to housing, transport and energy, drawing in particular upon the direction of travel coming from the Mayor's impending Infrastructure Investment Plan; and the more immediate delivery of regeneration and development opportunities at a borough level.

Base London 2014, the fifth anniversary event, forms an integral part of the Tomorrow's City programme; a series of activities underpinning the current Lord Mayoral term that seeks to explore how London can continue to be as successful in the future as it has in the past.
