Urban Vision – Capita’s partnership with Salford City Council – has been appointed to prepare the North London Waste Plan by the seven North London boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Hackney, Haringey, Islington and Waltham Forest.
The plan will identify sites for waste management use and set out policies for determining waste planning applications up to 2031. It will also conform to national planning policy and the Mayor of London’s spatial planning strategy, known as the London Plan.
Urban Vision’s three year role will comprise preparing a planning document identifying future waste management requirements in the area and identifying locations where new facilities could be situated; undertaking sustainability appraisal, habitats regulation assessment and equality impact assessment of the plan as it develops; and managing the community engagement on the plan.
Urban Vision’s minerals and waste planning team will be delivering the project.
