Work has been completed on a new £1.5m Motor Vehicle Service Station at Davyfield Industrial Estate in Blackburn
The project, which was designed by Capita on behalf of Blackburn with Darwen Council’s Transport Services department, comprises of a vehicle workshop facility that will enable the council to service and maintain its existing stock vehicles such as gritters, refuse vehicles and fleet vehicles.
The depot also offers MOT facilities for council vehicles and the public along with MOT and service provision for HGV’s thanks to the integration of a 38m long HGV pit lane. The building also includes two offices a reception area and sanitary facilities including a changing room.
Capita’s architects, structural engineers and mechanical engineers applied a multidisciplinary BIM approach utilising Autodesk Revit on the project. The company also provided electrical, landscape, drainage, cost management and project management services.
