Capita’s Andy Foster will be speaking at the LGA Conference on ‘Commercialisation in regulatory services – developing sustainable public protection’ which takes place in London on 16th June.
Regulatory services are a vital component of councils’ broader public protection work, but have experienced significant budget cuts as a result of overall cuts to local government funding. New models are needed to ensure the sustainability of public protection services in the years to come, and many councils are therefore exploring the scope for income generation through commercial services provided to businesses and others. This conference will consider the specific opportunities and challenges associated with commercialisation in regulatory services.
Andy will be speaking in the 2.50pm slot regarding Capita’s work with councils such as Barnet and North Tyneside to transform local government services into self funded units.
