From inception to delivery, we apply our combined property and infrastructure expertise to achieve more from the entire built environment.
Lawrence Waterman, director of Health and Safety at the £8bn Battersea Power Station development, will be the keynote speaker at the 24th annual Capita Safety lecture which takes place at 3pm on Wednesday 14th October at the Royal College of Surgeons in London.
Lawrence’s keynote lecture - ‘Out of Site: Health, safety and well-being beyond the construction site boundary’ - will look at how site teams are working with their local communities to transform public perceptions of health, safety and well-being.
Lawrence will also analyse how the well-being agenda is influencing major schemes, from the early development of enhanced public realm to encourage healthy behaviours such as walking, running and cycling, through to a much broader understanding of mixed use developments and the challenges in creating and sustaining these new communities.
Since it first launched 24 years, the lecture has become one of the most prestigious events in the health and safety calendar, welcoming previous speakers such as Sir John Cullen; Lord Woolf, the then Lord Chief Justice; and The Lord Dannatt.
