Capita Sponsors 2015 Scottish Health and Social Care Facilities Conference

5th November 2015

Capita is sponsoring the 2015 Scottish Health and Social Care Facilities Conference which takes place today and tomorrow at Crieff Hydro Hotel, Perthshire.

The conference, the biggest event of its kind in Scotland, attracts a range of speakers and delegates from across the property, construction and facilities management sectors.

Key speakers include:

  • John Burns, Chief Executive, NHS Ayrshire & Arran
  • Dr Catherine Calderwood, Chief Medical Officer for Scotland
  • Shona Robison MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Health, Wellbeing & Sport and Member of the Scottish Parliament for Dundee City East.

Capita has been actively working with Health Facilities Scotland for the past seven years. Health Facilities Scotland (HFS) provide technical and operational guidance to the Scottish Government Health and Social Care Directorate and NHS Scotland bodies in relation to all aspects of healthcare facilities to support and improve health and well-being services.

In order to develop NHSScotland’s Property and Asset Management Strategy, it was necessary to carry out an appraisal of the existing land and property as a baseline assessment of the current NHS Scotland Estate which included all property owned and leased by NHS Scotland.

To assist with this HFS Capita appointed a ‘Survey Partner’ for the Estates Asset Management Project. During the first six phases of the project Capita has carried out surveys of sites in excess of 3,807,151sqm across 3812 survey blocks at 786 sites within 14 NHS Boards.
