Capita Sponsors Local Government Chronicle Summit

17th September 2015

Capita is sponsoring the Local Government Chronicle Summit which takes place this week from 17-18 September at the Crowne Plaza in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.

The LGC Summit, now in its 15th year, continues to be the best opportunity for council chief executives and senior managers from public and private sector organisations to discuss the biggest issues facing the public sector.

As part of the event’s overarching theme - ‘Transforming for prosperity’ - Capita will be hosting a workshop entitled ‘How can a council chief executive best enable the use of data as a strategic tool for their local area?’

Led by Capita’s data expert - Neil Mackin - the workshop will share lessons and examples from public and private sector organisations that are looking to be insight driven, managing and using data as a corporate asset, and gaining insight, that allows them to:

  • Change the way they interact with citizens;
  • Tailor services at every touchpoint;
  • Commission services more effectively;
  • Drive down end-to-end cost of delivery by logistics optimisation;
  • Enable citizens to better support one another;
  • The workshop will look at ways to change the culture within an organisation to one that appreciates the power of data, as well as the more practical necessities regarding the infrastructure needed for successful data management. It will also look at how open data can be used for real benefit beyond the organisation alone – to empower the community to become change agents that enrich the life of the locality.

Capita's workshop takes place from 3.35pm – 4.35pm on Thursday 17th September.
