Porsche Unveils New Gerry Judah & Capita Sculpture

8th September 2015

Renowned car giant Porsche has unveiled another extraordinary Gerry Judah/Capita sculpture at the company’s 100 million euro museum in Stuttgart, Germany.

The sculpture features three real cars - a brand-new 991 Carrera, flanked by 911 SC coupé and 911 2.2 E coupé classics – all restored to showroom condition.

Designed by Gerry Judah, with structural engineering by Capita and fabrication by Littlehampton Welding, the sculpture was pre-fabricated in eight pieces in the UK before being shipped to Germany for assembly on site.

As the site is in the middle of the Porsche factory complex, the team had to assemble the structure in just two weekends during the August shutdown.

25 metres (82 feet) high, the sculpture is a lightweight steel monocoque shell, similar to the original Porsche sculpture for the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2013 .

We are proud to produce this piece for the heart of the German manufacturing industry, designed, engineered and built in the UK.
