St Mary’s College in Hull has been nominated in the ‘Community Benefit’ category at the RICS Yorkshire Pro awards.
The £19m project, part of the Hull BSF programme, comprised a mixture of new build, refurbishment and remodelling.
Capita provided architecture and FF&E services on the project on behalf of the Esteem Local Education Partnership (LEP).
St Mary’s College, the highest performing faith school within Hull City Council's portfolio of secondary schools, is a 1,650 place Roman Catholic voluntary-aided school and sixth form college. The previous school building was remodelled and refurbished, with a prominent new building built to provide specialist new learning facilities including a performing arts space, science labs, a new LRC (learning resource centre), and a new 350- place VI Form College.
A new bespoke sports hall and new outdoor facilities, such as a 3G artificial turf pitch and multi-use games area, also strengthened the college’s already impressive sports offer, while new landscaped courtyards linked the various buildings and facilities across the site to form a consolidated campus.
The Esteem LEP - which delivered the £400m Hull BSF programme - was led by Hull City Council and comprised Morgan Sindall Investments Limited, Robertsons Capital Projects Limited and Hull-based Sewell Group plc.
The winners will be announced on Friday 15th May.
