Urban Vision Celebrates Ten Year Anniversary

Urban Vision has just celebrated its tenth anniversary.

The company was launched on 1st February 2005 as a joint venture partnership between Salford City Council, Capita and Galliford Try.

The core objectives set by Salford City Council were for the development and enhancement of existing services that would be recognised by the community, council members and customers, while also delivering financial benefit to the council and enhancing its reputation.

Over the course of the partnership Urban Vision has improved performance against key performance indicators, delivered significant efficiency savings, created new market opportunities and business growth, significantly invested in staff, and facilitated regeneration and  jobs growth that has changed the face of the city.

Key achievements include:

  • Raising the client base from two to 230.
  • Raising turnover from £23.5m to £38.5m.
  • Generating over £100m in capital receipts for Salford City Council.
  • Salford’s LED Street Lighting initiative which is forecast to make savings of £1m per year
  • Generated £3,730,206 of income for Salford City Council from highway advertising initiatives.

Urban Vision has played a key role in that journey through its planning, building control, property, design, highway and infrastructure services which have helped shape and deliver many of Salford’s key regeneration projects.”
