25th Annual Capita Health and Safety Lecture

11th October 2016

Join us for the 25th Annual Capita Health and Safety Lecture on 11 October at The Royal College of Surgeons, London. The event is free to attend and by invitation only.

Since it first launched 25 years ago, the lecture has become a prestigious event with a high profile in the health and safety calendar. We have had the privilege of welcoming previous speakers such as Sir John Cullen and Lord Woolf, the then Lord Chief Justice and also The Lord Dannatt, and is testimony to the value and importance of the lecture.

Speakers

Martin Temple CBE, Chairman of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) Board since April 2016

Martin's appearance at our lecture this year will represent the first public address he has made since being appointed Chairman, so it will be a great opportunity to hear his views on the current health & safety landscape and what direction he will be taking the HSE in over the coming years.

Leon Smith OBE, Captain of the GB Davis Cup Team

Leon will be talking on the parallels between Elite Sport and Health & Safety Management. This is sure to be a fascinating talk and a great chance to hear a different take on effective approaches to management.

The Compère

Leading this year's lecture will be Gerard Forlin QC. Gerard was called to the Bar by Lincoln’s Inn and appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2010 in both Civil and Criminal.

In the last five years he has been ranked in the leading independent directories including: Health and Safety, Product Liability, Crime, Public Inquiries and Inquests, Consumer Law and Environmental Law. He was also awarded the title of Regulatory Barrister of the Year in 2015.
