GL Hearn – part of Capita Real Estate – has appointed Deborah McLaughlin to lead GL Hearn’s Manchester office, with a national remit on housing strategy and delivery.
Deborah was instrumental in the delivery of many successful investment schemes, including the substantial affordable housing programme, the rebirth of Ancoats in Manchester, working with partners to deliver the Preston and Lancashire City Deal and the rapid expansion of the Omega site near Warrington.
Her team at the HCA also supported the redevelopment of Kings Dock in Liverpool, Wirral Waters and the restoration of the Lancaster Moor heritage site into high-quality housing.
Deborah recently completed a successful 12-month secondment as chief executive of Manchester Place, establishing a new collaborative way of working to increase housing supply in Manchester and attract international investment. Manchester Place won the public sector Team of the Year award at the Insider North West Residential Property Awards 2016.
Alastair Crowdy, Head of Capita Real Estate Advisory and GL Hearn, said: “Deborah is one of the most highly regarded professionals in the arena of housing strategy and delivery, with a proven track record of accelerating housing growth.
“We are delighted that she will be joining us as we step up our efforts to help meet the acute housing challenge.”
