Following the publication of the Government’s new national strategy for estates regeneration, Capita Real Estate and Infrastructure has announced the formation of a new national Estates Regeneration unit. The unit will be headed up by Guy Ingham, director of development consultancy at GL Hearn.
The new unit has been established to build on Capita’s current comprehensive proposition for estates regeneration and its extensive experience working on regeneration schemes across London and the UK. It will allow the team to build an ‘end-to-end’ service delivery model ensuring that developers, housing associations and local authorities can select the specific range of services required to deliver their projects.
The team will capitalise on the expertise of development director Paul Clark, who has recently returned from a nine-month secondment at the Department for Communities and Local Government advising on the Government’s estates regeneration strategy, and Stewart Murray, the ex-head of planning at the Greater London Authority, who was recently appointed as head of development group for GL Hearn.
Capita provides a range of services on estate regeneration projects for a wide variety of clients including local authorities across the UK and some of the country’s highest profile developers and housing associations. The new unit will serve as a ‘best practice hub’ for the delivery of these services, such as viability assessment, design, town planning, cost and project management, public engagement and partner procurement.
Jules Bickers, director of housing at Capita, said: “The new national Estates Regeneration unit at Capita will provide a centre of excellence for developers, housing associations and local authorities looking to deliver complex regeneration proposals. Whether you’re at the very beginning of the process of regenerating a local estate, or need support on a complex project already in progress, Capita and GL Hearn can provide expertise across the complete life cycle of a project. We can help to ensure that all organisations are able to take advantage of the new guidance and funding available from the Government.”
