ESA Architecture part of winning team at OAS Awards

23rd June 2017

ESA Architecture, part of Capita Real Estate and Infrastructure, is delighted to be part of the winning team at this year’s OAS awards.

ESA Architecture provided the concept, design and planning to leading developer and asset manager Exton Estates on The Bower, which has been awarded the “Best Refurbishment/ Regeneration Outside of Central London”, accolade at this year's OAS Development Awards.

The OAS Development Awards took place on the 15th June at the Tower of London. It is the only event in the industry awarded by agents and recognises excellence in office development, sustainability and transactions across the wider UK and City of London & West End Markets.

Exton were supported by investors Rockspring and Clearbell on the speculative development of this iconic office building. Exton originated the purchase of a 1986 Foggo designed office building within Stockley Park and with ESA secured planning permission to reengineer and redevelop the building around the original frame, with 25,000 sq.ft of net office space being added. “The Bower” is 150,000 sq ft of ‘Grade A’ office accommodation, built to uncompromising design standards and achieves a BREEAM environmental rating ‘excellent’ and EPC A rating. The building was completed in November 2016.

The scheme revitalises and extends the original building by rationalising the internal layout thereby creating a clean highly flexible workspace all within a new contemporary building skin and set within outstanding landscaping. “The Bower” delivers some of largest floor plates in the Thames Valley and is the first major development within the Park for over 15 years.

We are thrilled to have been part of the winning team at the OAS 2017 awards working on “The Bower” and supporting our client Exton Estates. Over the past year our architectural team has gone from strength to strength, being involved in some of the UK’s most high-profile commercial real estate projects.
