GL Hearn ramps up North West team

5th September 2017

GL Hearn announces today that two new development directors have been appointed to support its national housing strategy and delivery.

The recruitment of Neil Pickering and Andrew Rennie to the Manchester office follows the appointment of Deborah McLaughlin and will further strengthen GL Hearn’s expertise and experience in both the public and private sectors.

With over 15 years’ developer experience, Andrew Rennie is well-placed to help landowners realise the maximum potential of their estates. He specialises in land and property acquisition, and development management for residential and mixed-use projects which have included Build to Rent in urban and suburban environments.

Andrew’s main remit is to work closely with GL Hearn clients to assist with the delivery of housing related projects.

Neil Pickering brings with him almost 30 years of experience in development management and regeneration consultancy, split between the public and private sectors. He possesses highly developed commercial skills and has held senior management positions, including at the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA).

He specialises in development management and has a comprehensive understanding of how to assess and structure housing, commercial and mixed-use projects with a particular focus around large scale and complex schemes that include partnerships between the public and private sector.

Deborah McLaughlin, Head of housing Delivery and Strategy, GL Hearn, said: “Both Neil and Andrew bring with them a wealth of vital expertise, and will help strengthen GL Hearn’s reputation and experience in development management.

“I look forward to working with them as we seek to expand GL Hearn’s delivery of housing-related projects.”

This is very much part of our commitment to deliver housing solutions on a national scale retaining a local touch, working on the ground in communities across the country with a priority focus on Manchester and the North West region.
