The Welsh Government has appointed Capita Real Estate and Infrastructure’s Cardiff based team to project manage the refurbishment of the former Techboard factory facility situated on the Rassau Industrial Estate in Ebbw Vale.
This important £5m enhancement project of an existing asset involves the demolition of some existing structures and concrete plinths; repairs to foul and surface water drainage; weatherproofing and refurbishment of the building fabric; soft strip and reinstatement of new office and sanitary facilities, fire separation works and repairs to existing concrete floors. By the end of the refurbishment, the physical fabric of the building will be transformed to provide high quality production space, new and improved offices and up graded car parking and landscape areas. The refurbishment of the site will also help enhance the Rassau Industrial Estate more generally and assist in creating value and economic benefits for the wider area.
Andrew Lintern, Regional Director, Capita Real Estate and Infrastructure commented on the appointment: “Having carried out the feasibility study, our knowledge and understanding of the challenges of working on this important asset will ensure we can deliver high quality refurbishment of this building for Welsh Government as part of the wider Tech Valleys Initiative. We are delighted to be able to continue our long-established working relationship with the team to refurbish the building ready for the next occupier(s). ”
