ESA is shortlisted for two Brick Awards 2018

25th October 2018

Congratulations to ESA, part of Capita Real Estate and Infrastructure, on being shortlisted for two Brick Awards. The Brick Awards celebrate the best examples of clay brick in our built environment. These prestigious awards attract over 300 entries from leading architects, housebuilders, developers and contractors, across 15 hotly-contested categories.

Our shortlisted Brick Awards in the commercial category are:

  • Croxley Park – ESA has successfully delivered the first of two new HQ office buildings for Columbia Threadneedle. These buildings, totalling 140k of Grade A workplace space, sit within a new landscaped hub that signal the next stage of the evolution of the Business Park. Phase 2 is due to start on site January 2019.
  • Oriana Phase 2 - ESA has successfully designed and delivered this exemplar mixed use development in London’s West End for the clients Frogmore and Land Securities. The ‘island site’ bounded by Oxford Street and Tottenham Court Road, comprises 120,000 sq. ft of retail over three levels and 18 luxury apartments above. The development comprises a mix of retained facades, listed buildings and new build accommodation.

Kevin Wylde, ESA Director, comments “We are very proud of the second phase of our Oriana development, it’s an exemplar architectural case study incorporating pretty much every design and technical challenge in the book. The brick components comprise glazed retail infill buildings, replacing the two-storey Georgian facades and a three-dimensional landscape of cascading forms and terraces, referencing the hillside villages of the Mediterranean. The result is an oasis of contemporary living on Hamway Street stitched into the historic fabric of Oxford Street.”

The Brick Awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 8 November 2018, at the Hilton Park Lane, London. Good luck to all nominations.
