Flying start for GL Hearn’s Development Agency Team

12th April 2018

GL Hearn’s Development Agency team has started the year with a flurry of new transactions.

The company has been enhancing its 55 strong Development Consultancy Team most recently with the appointment of Toby Greville. Toby brings a wealth of agency experience gained over 15 years at Cushman & Wakefield and at Colliers.

The residential Land Agency team, under Toby’s leadership has successfully exchanged a major regeneration site in Luton, providing 685 new homes and a 200 key hotel for Strawberry Star. The same week, GL Hearn secured two disposals in the West Midlands for Severn Trent; a former reservoir in Coventry completed to Bellway Homes. GL Hearn also secured planning consent for 70 new homes and contracts were exchanged for the sale of land in Stourbridge with a local residential developer.

Since January, the team has transacted seven land deals and aims to double this run rate by the end of the Summer. These transactions range from central London to Norwich and Kent to the Midlands, and include the acquisition of the 12.4 acre Middlesex Business Park in Southall for Montreaux.

Alastair Crowdy, Managing Director said “Toby and the team have had a fantastic start to the year and these transactions are providing great momentum to our business. We have always had a strong development agency offer but the extra focus under Toby’s leadership increases our profile and realises significant value for our clients. We intend to build on this success and will be increasing our market presence across the country."

Toby Greville said “The interest in residential development opportunities has clearly spread out from central London which reflects the market’s reaction to house price affordability. We are advising on well in excess of 5 million square feet of property with development potential across the country and, supported by a very strong Planning Team, are well placed to support both buyers and sellers. We have had a major focus on both disposals and partnership opportunities and will be launching a series of important schemes this spring”.

Toby’s appointment coincides with a range of further hires to GL Hearn’s Development team including Victoria Eden and James Hall.
