Capita Real Estate and Infrastructure bolsters its Technology team with the appointment of Carole Ciliberti as the new Director of Smart Places. Carole has an electronic engineering background with more than 10 years of international experience both in private and public sectors. She has previously worked for companies such as Accenture and the SNC Lavalin’s Atkins business, where she led the London’s Intelligent Mobility practice. She has successfully managed complex and multi-disciplinary projects and provided technical and strategic advice, in various fields of application, such as Intelligent Mobility, Smart Cities, Smart Ticketing and Payment and Digital Transformation. Key clients include the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS), the Department for Transport (DfT) and Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM).

Carole is driven by the desire to exploit new technology, processes and commercial models to create innovative solutions to complex problems. She is particularly interested in shaping the places of the future and developing sustainable and social inclusive strategies and solutions that meet current and evolving challenges.

Carole said, “One of the various and fascinating challenges that we face today is to understand and drive the technology revolution that is radically changing the way we live, work, travel and communicate with one another. Governments, institutions and companies are being reshaped, as are transportation, healthcare and education systems, amongst many others. I am delighted to have joined Capita to work closely with Simon and other colleagues across the company to develop the Smart Places strategy and grow the business in this area in the coming years. It’s a very exciting time, and we really have the opportunity - as well as the duty - to shape how places and communities will look like in the future. Cross-sector teamwork and collaboration with our partners and clients will be paramount in this process.”

Simon Reeves, Director of Technology, welcomed Carole’s appointment, commenting “Carole’s background, skills and experience were exactly what we were looking for to assist with the growth of the Technology business in this exciting and constantly evolving sector that touches all our day to day lives in so many ways.”
