Qualifications: Diploma in Architecture (Oxford) RIBA
Chris is an architectural practice director with 34 years’ professional experience of commercial and prestige architectural practice in the United Kingdom.
Initially trained by Taylor Woodrow in construction site management and quantity surveying, Chris moved on to study Architecture at Cheltenham and Oxford. He was elected to the RIBA in 1982 and started working in private practice in London. Chris has experience of self-build housing, consultancy to inner London local authorities, public housing and refurbishment schemes, industrial, commercial, offices, retail and food retail, leisure and private residences. Whilst retaining a ‘hands-on’ involvement in his projects across the UK and in Europe, Russia and Africa, Chris joined the board of a provincial practice in 1992 and became managing director in 1998. He has extensive experience of project and company management and of dispute resolution at all levels.
Chris has acted as an expert advisor for clients during adjudication, in contractual disputes, and in the identification and resolution of building defects. He works closely with both contractors and building owners, analysing building performance, carrying out investigative research, preparing and presenting professional opinions and expert advice on aspects of defective buildings, financial settlement, contractual disputes and project closure.
