Saltburn Transport Masterplan Study

Thank you for visiting the site. On behalf of Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council, Capita Real Estate and Infrastructure is undertaking a study exploring opportunities to improve transport within Saltburn. The study, primarily focussing on parking, has been commissioned as a result of issues raised and complaints made by residents about the level and nature of parking in the town particularly during the summer months.
The initial part of the study commenced with a parking survey at the height of the summer season in August. More recently a further parking survey was undertaken in October. These two surveys will allow us to compare parking levels and thus estimate the impact of tourist related parking upon ‘normal’ parking levels.
We are therefore keen to seek your general views on the town’s transportation issues and invite you to comment. The study area is shown on a plan below.
The next stage of the project will be to assimilate the data alongside your initial comments to enable us to draft a Masterplan of high-level visualisations accompanied by a short report. Following the consultation, the Masterplan will be updated to reflect a series of preferred options for Concept Design Stage.
