Flood Protection

With around one in five properties in England and Wales at risk from river, coastal, ground, and surface water flooding, the need to build new and maintain existing flood defences has never been greater. The future risks from increased rainfall and rising sea levels as a result of climate change means there is an ever-growing need to protect property infrastructure to adapt and mitigate these risks.

Our national team of over 100 dedicated flood risk and environmental specialists can support you in understanding these risks and in designing solutions, working closely with your contractors to deliver successful flood risk outcomes.

We have supported clients such as the Environment Agency for over 20 years, from being at the forefront of the development of the first-generation catchment flood risk management plans, through to the award-winning Keadby Terminal Assisted Outfall and Newhaven Flood Alleviation Scheme business cases. We have assisted local authorities across the country including Blackburn with Darwen’s surface water management plan through to the appraisal, design, and site supervision of the Pocklington Flood Alleviation scheme at Pocklington for East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
