Flood Protection Engineering and Design

Capita Real estate and infrastructure provide expertise across the flood protection sector spans scheme inception, appraisal and design for river, coastal and surface water projects. This includes over 20 years of design and advisory to key clients such as the Environment Agency and local authorities across England and Wales. 

One such example includes the £76M Kendal Flood Alleviation Scheme which will protect over 1,480 homes and 1,151 businesses from flooding when it is completed. Our team has been involved on the project since its inception in 2016, delivering complex river modelling, engineering design, environmental and economic assessment to deliver a successful business case in 2018 for the Environment Agency.  We continue to support the project through planning support and detail design of the final scheme.
