Rail Environmental, Health and Safety

Sustainability is a key responsible business indicator, and a means of championing innovation. This is paramount for a safer, more efficient rail system fit for future generations to enjoy. Our commitment to the United Nation’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals guides how we plan, develop and deliver rail projects with our clients. This enables us to help mitigate climate change, protect and enhance the natural environment, bring social value to communities and promote inclusivity, safety and wellbeing.

Our safety audit experts ensure technical assurance for the Rail Safety Standards Board (RSSB) through the Rail Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS), the only supplier assurance scheme currently endorsed by Network Rail and Transport for London.

Through our involvement in major rail schemes such as HS2, our EIA practitioners, ecologists and landscape architects understand how a collaborative approach can influence balanced outcomes which benefit the economy, environment and society.

With a team qualified in the principles of PAS:2080, carbon calculator tools, and sustainability rating schemes, we drive carbon reduction and energy efficiency in design and construction. In order to effectively reduce waste and manage ground risks, our ground engineering and waste specialists apply both site based and design techniques.

Applying our bespoke models and assessment tools we ensure sustainable drainage systems, green blue infrastructure and flood mitigation schemes are innovative and cost effective for our clients
