Garden Towns and Villages represent exciting development opportunities. They have a leading role to play in tackling the housing crisis and creating new high quality successful places for our growing population to live, work and play.
Our dedicated team is taking a lead role in identifying, designing and delivering new settlements and urban extensions to help deliver growth and economic development. We are working on a range of Garden City projects and opportunities on behalf of housebuilders, landowners and local authorities at Ebbsfleet Garden City, Eastleigh Garden Village, North Cheshire Garden Village, St Cuthbert’s Garden Village, new settlement at Braintree/Uttlesford, as well as undertaking strategic studies at Aylesbury Vale, Tunbridge Wells and around Birmingham.
The identification of these strategic areas of growth, ranging from urban extensions to new settlements, has been revitalised and gathered momentum as in 2017 the Department of Communities and Local Government ‘DCLG’ announced over 20 projects and in March 2018 five new garden towns are to be built along the Oxford to Cambridge route.
At Capita and GL Hearn we have the capacity to build bespoke teams, tailored to the needs of the strategic development opportunity. As a multi-disciplinary team, we have an overarching offer across most aspects of development, planning and property.
Our Garden Towns & Villages team has the skills and experience in bringing forward strategic development sites to accelerate pace in delivery. We can:
