Annabelle spent her work placement week with our Rail team, where she was able to learn about the team's work as well as their involvement in the London Luton Airport expansion and HS2 projects. The week placement was a great opportunity for Annabelle to speak with some of the apprentices in our team and learn more about the career paths they took after leaving school.
"I am glad Anita Camilleri, the People Development Manager, provided me with the opportunity to spend my week's work experience at Capita. Before starting this week, I did not realise the huge company that I was going to gain background in and the super friendly team that I would be shadowing for the week. I got to sit with project managers and quantity surveyors to learn about their daily jobs along with their involvement in the LLAL or HS2. I’ve found gaining insight into the Luton Airport expansion useful, because I now know things about it that I would not have known if not for being here. Additionally, it was advantageous to talk to a couple of the apprentices as I’ve realised that it is a great option after leaving school. The chance to learn a bit more about the field I hope to pursue in the future was perfect as well. I can now leave here knowing that I have attained valuable experience into the working world and hope to take on an apprenticeship with Capita when I leave school."
